Canadian Labor Parley Ends; Re-elect Mosher

Ottawa, Sept. 26—Final actions of the Canadian Congress of Labor convention, which closed here this week, included re-election of A. R. Mosher as president, A. A. McAuslane of Vancouver and Sol Spivak of the Clothing Workers, Toronto, as vice-presidents, and Pat Conroy of Montreal secretary-treasurer.

Resolutions included a unanimous plea for an immediate second front; a full selective service act for the armed forces and the reserve; labor representation on compensation case boards; increased corporation taxes to limit profits to four percent; and other resolutions to aid the war and protect workers.

In addition, the convention called on the Dominion government to release interned persons known to be anti-fascist and to lift the ban on the Communist Party. Earlier in the week, the convention had urged improvements in labor relations laws to fully guarantee the right of collective bargaining.
