To the Editor of the Chronicle:

Please allow us a small space in your valuable paper, to contradict a statement that we saw in your last issue, purporting to be a conversation between us; and to show you that the whole conversation is false, we give below exactly our conversation.

Smith: I have used some of that Logan and Canfield Coal and I pronounce it the dirtiest coal I ever burnt. It is not half as good as Ontario coal.

Jones: I agree with you there, the last load of that kind of coal I bought, my wife scolded me until the dirty stuff was all burnt and she told me Never to Buy any thing but ONTARIO COAL hereafter if I valued the Peace of the family.

Mr. Editor how any one could construe the above conversation into an article like the one in your last paper is a mystery to us.

Yours truly,
JONES and SMITH.
