Full Text

Some private letters received in Holland from France advise, that as vigorous efforts are making for the rest of the campaign, and as many mechanics and artisans dragged from their employments and forced into the service, as if they had in view the conquest of a kingdom.

Other letters from France advise, that the report still prevailed that M. Broglio was soliciting permission to go to Aix la Chapelle: that he would be succeeded in the chief command by the Count de St. Germain; and that either Gen. Chevert or the Count de Maillebois (who is just returned to Court from the banishment which was occasioned by his dispute with Marshal d'Etrees after the battle of Hastenbeck) would command a body of troops on the lower Rhine.
