CARNIVAL SPIRIT
REIGNS OVER CITY

Merry-Makers Observe
Hallowe'en in Pleasantville Streets

The spirit of carnival was in possession of Pleasantville last night, when from early in the evening until well after midnight grotesque and fantastically costumed celebrants observed Hallowe'en.

Main street from Verona avenue to Pleasant avenue was a gay, colorful panorama throughout the entire evening, with the sidewalks crowded with merry-makers in hundreds of disguises. Horns, whistles, confetti and talcum powder were all used in their representative spheres to heighten the spirit of the occasion. Janitors and store clerks were busy until the middle of this morning sweeping confetti and paper trailers from the sidewalks.

With the exception of chalk and soap marking on sidewalks and plate glass windows, little vandalism was reported throughout the city during the night.
