WASHINGTON, FEBRUARY, 5.

Extract of a letter from Arkansas to a gentleman in Congress.

"We have just received information that the Cherokees lately made an incursion into the Osage country, & killed some white people who were trading there. Nathaniel Pryor, we understand, was killed. They likewise killed and took prisoner many Osages, and carried away seventy horses. Nathaniel Pryor accompanied Lewis & Clark in their expedition to the Pacific, and more recently bore the commission of captain in the regular army."
