Editorial

The trip taken by General Scott and Hartwig around the inlet a few weeks ago has occasioned the comments: what was the issue? What if anything did it mean?

For ourselves, we don't think it meant anything specific. Any person who is in charge of a district either in a civilian or a military capacity should be acquainted with that district. If he is a good governor or a good commander.

We think General Scott is a good commander and is on his toes and that is why he came down to look the country over.

We are glad he came here when he did, for the weather man gave us a break. He also loosed the requirements on the inlet pointing out as no human argument could the absolute necessity of a small boat harbor along the Homer shore.

We need a small boat harbor badly and when we go before the U. S. Army Engineers with our plans and models General Scott's blessing is not going to go amiss.
