ONE OF CONDON'S SIRENS FOUND IN A PRISON
Discovered by Detective Who Was "Broken" for Favoring Howard Gould.

Frank Peabody, the former Detective-Lieutenant who lost his badge because of the activity he displayed in the interests of Howard Gould, kept his detective instincts in spite of the loss of his shield. Through his exertions Grace Wilson, who is charged with having been one of the three "Clarke sisters" who on Nov. 9 last robbed James Condon, of One Hundred and Fiftieth street and Amsterdam avenue, of $6,000, was arraigned in Jefferson Market Court to-day.

Peabody discovered that the young woman for whom the police had been searching for months was among the thirty-two women committed to Blackwell's Island by Magistrate Corrigan last week.

Co-operating with Detectives O'Farrell, Doran and Raphael he secured her release from the Workhouse.

As soon as she landed from the island she was arrested, charged with complicity in the theft of Condon's $6,000.

Acting upon information furnished by her, detectives went to a pawnshop at No. 7 Second avenue and there arrested the proprietor, Jacob Bronner.

The young woman and the pawn-broker were taken to Police Headquarters to-day, where detectives were called in to see them.

The woman said that he had pawned for $500 a diamond ring which she had taken from Condon, and that she had given the ticket to Bronner.

She said she had told her and the two other women who she said were concerned in the Condon robbery with her to leave New York. One of the women went to Detroit and the other to Chicago.

Just as Bronner was telling his version of the case to the detectives, his son entered the room and told him to quit talking. He obeyed and the police locked him up.

Condon was robbed in a flat at No. 147 West Forty-third street by the women known as the "Clark sisters" whom he met on the street.
