Galignani's Messenger says, that during the last few days a party of men of color, of the deepest black, dressed in the newest style of Parisian fashion have been observed at the Universal Exhibition, the Jardin d'Hiver balls, and other public places. These ebon gentleman are functionaries of the court of his Imperial Majesty, Faustin I—better known as Soulouque. Among them are Gen. Count Elea, senator, Grand Chancellor of Hayti; Viscount Elea, his son; Baron Simon, senator; and the Count de Val, senator. The above personages, with a numerous suit, lodge at the hotel in the garden of the Cercle de l'Exposition. They are admitted to dine at the club dinner, and may be seen almost any evening smoking segars and taking coffee on the terrace.
