"I ENCLOSE a copy of extracts from the minutes of the general assembly of the Presbyterian Church in the United States. From this you will learn that Religion, though neglected and almost unknown among us, is thriving in other parts of America. In the state of Kentucky there is at this time a very singular work carried on. Thousands meet together for public worship, and hundreds fall down under a sense of their awful state, as rebels against God. I lately read a letter from a gentleman of my acquaintance, of undoubted veracity, who was present on a sacramental occasion, at a place called Cane Ridge, where it was supposed between fifteen and twenty thousand persons attended, and here one thousand and upwards fell to the ground.— He particularly mentioned among those who fell, a young lawyer, a professed infidel. This young man, after lying a considerable time, agonizing as in death, grew somewhat better—and, with the assistance of two men, one under each arm, he stood and spoke near an hour with great earnestness; declaring that he once thought himself possessed of arguments sufficient to overthrow every thing bro't in support of revelation, but they had all fled, as chaff before the wind.
"Multitudes of those who have opposed this work with the greatest virulence, have fallen under it and become its advocates."

Event Details
A singular religious work in Kentucky where thousands gather for worship and hundreds fall under conviction as rebels against God. At a sacramental occasion at Cane Ridge, attended by 15,000 to 20,000 persons, over 1,000 fell to the ground. A young lawyer, a professed infidel, fell, agonized, then stood and declared his former arguments against revelation had fled.
