COMPLAINTS OF LONG ISLAND RAILWAY MANAGEMENT.

About 30 gentlemen living in the southern part of Long-Island, but doing business in this city, met in the United States Hotel, at Fulton and Water-sts., yesterday afternoon, to express their dissatisfaction with the management of the Southern Railroad of Long Island. John A. Fowle was chosen chairman and S. P. Johnson secretary. Short speeches were made by several persons, who complained that there seemed to be an increasing unwillingness on the part of the directors to meet the necessities of the residents in the southern part of the Island, in the hours and the frequency of trains. Many people had been compelled to give up their homes in that part of Long Island, and there had been great shrinkage in the value of property. A committee of five was appointed to draw up resolutions stating the grievances, to present them to the company, and to report the result at the next meeting.
