Daniel Fulton, for
many years a rancher at Ismay,
Montana, was named State Financial
Chairman of the Gerard-for-
Senator Club today, according to
a release from Gerard's headquarters
here.
Fulton, a lifetime resident of
Montana was manager of the
Fulton Ranch Company. of Ismay
until its sales last November. He
is a past president of the Montana
Stockgrowers Association and
immediate past - president of the
Montana Wool Growers Association.
He is a graduate of Montana
grade and high schools at
Ismay and is very active in ranch-
ing activities.
He helped organize and was
Secretary of the Fallon Creek
Co-operative Grazing District; he
has served as Chairman of the
Montana Grass Commission to
which he was appointed by
Governor Ford; and as President
of the American Society of Range
Management. Fulton also holds an
honorary doctorate of science from
the Montana State College.
In 1931, Fulton married Mary
Ann George of Knowlton, Montana.
They have three children,
two daughters and a son. Fulton
has served as a director of the
Bank of Baker for many years.
In making the announcement,
Gerard, who seeks the Republican
nomination for U. S. Senate. said.
"I am deeply honored that a man
of Dan Fulton's ability will take
the time and effort required of
this position to help me in my
candidacy."
Gerard's first appointment was
made last week when he named
Charles Luedke, Billings attorney
as Secretary - Manager of the
State Gerard-for-Senator Clubs.
In this capacity Luedke will be in
overall charge of the Gerard
campaign.
Luedke, also a native Montanan,
was born in Saltese, Montana. attended
schools in Missoula and
graduated in 1949 from the University
of Montana Law School.
A World War II veteran with
overseas service in the famed
"Flying Tigers," Luedke, in accepting
the appointment said, "I
am happy to be associated with a
man as capable and experienced
as "Jerry" Gerard. Montana needs
a man of his calibre to represent
them in the Senate."
