$75,000 Ransom Is Asked for Factor

CHICAGO, July 3.-(UP).-

Kidnapers holding captive John (Jake the Barber) Factor promised to furnish instructions today for payment of the $75,000 ransom they demand for release of the man reputed to have made a million dollars last week in the booming wheat market.

Although the ransom was reduced from a purported $200,000, Factor's son, Jerome, 19, himself kidnaped and held for $100,000 less than three months ago, searched frantically but apparently in vain for the money.

Jerome talked to a man who said he was one of the kidnapers by telephone last night.
