POLICE SEEK KILLER OF
TWO HIGH SCHOOL GIRLS

MORRIS TOWNSHIP, N.J. (P) Police waged an intensive investigation today in the bludgeon slaying of two pretty high school girls whose bodies were found off a lonely road in a wooded area here Thursday.

An 18-year-old youth, an acquaintance of the girls, was questioned for several hours, given a lie detector test and later released.

Prosecutor Frank Scerbo said the youth admitted talking to the girls at a soda shop Wednesday night.

The victims were identified as Margaret Ann Kennedy, 16, and Noreen Buckley, 17, both of Morris Plains.

Police said the girls were fully clothed and had not been raped.
