Full Text
The game of inter-collegiate football may be a little strenuous, but so is life in general. No man or woman amounts to anything who cannot meet life bravely and take the hard knocks cheerfully. Football is a game that inculcates better habits, for no athlete can dissipate. It brings forward the manly qualities and makes a young man self-reliant, teaches him to hold his temper, and, all in all, is the best American game of the day. Don't keep your boy out of the game if he wants to play. If he has pluck enough to get into practice games and win a place on a team, he will have energy enough to get out into the business world and succeed. This is good interest on a few bruises.
