Baptist Groups Honor Members And Mothers
On Monday evening the Y. W. A.'s, led by Mrs. C. M. Day, and the Intermediate G. A.'s, led by Mrs. Leon Engleman, gave a delightful banquet honoring the membership, their mothers, and a few special guests.
The Young People's Department where the meeting was held, was tastefully decorated with large baskets of iris, spirea, and ferns. Low bowls of the same flowers served as centerpieces for the tables. The attractive place cards bore the Y. W. A. and G. A. emblems.
Mrs. Day's gracious manner and cordial words of welcome began a program marked by happy association, humor, and Christian inspiration.
Mrs. J. P. Durham, leader of the Young People's Department, Mrs. H. L. Herrington, president of the W. M. U., and Mrs. Engleman expressed appreciation for the fine spirit and good work of the groups. Guests added their commendation and appreciation.
Miss Joan Day directed an advertising recognition contest, and a chorus composed of Virginia McLellan, Lowanne Henry, Nell Allen, Ruby J. Cooper, Rose Counts, Betty Herrington, Mary L. Cresswell, and Janice Robertson sang "Breathe On Me."
Forty-eight members and guests enjoyed the delicious and abundant dinner and the pleasant entertainment.
