Garrett Davis's Retort.

Wilson, of Massachusetts, offered, in the U. S. Senate on Friday, a resolution to expel Garrett Davis, of Kentucky, for disloyalty in calling upon the people to rise against their war-leaders, and take the conduct of affairs into their own hands. Davis stated that he meant no more than an appeal to the ballot-box and affirmed, that he was as true and loyal to the Government as Wilson had shown himself to be when Massachusetts was in rebellion against the Fugitive Slave Law. The attack and retort produced quite a sensation.
