BLOWING ROCK FARMER BADLY HURT IN ACCIDENT AT SAWMILL

Garland Stanley, saw mill operator and farmer of Blowing Rock, was severely injured late Saturday in a freak accident and is in the hospital here, maybe for an indefinite stay.

He had arrived at the mill yard with a load of logs and had climbed on top of these and unfastened a chain holding them when all the logs started rolling off and he was caught among them and hurled to the ground, at least part of the logs passing over him. Examination at the hospital showed that he had been injured in the chest and in one shoulder.
