Mr. Fillmore.—The N. Y. Commercial closes an article on the National Administration with this language:
Whether Millard Fillmore be re-elected to the Presidential office, or whether some other good and tried Whig be chosen for that honor, or whether the mantle of the Executive fall upon one of an opposite political faith, we shall always regard Mr. Fillmore's Administration of the affairs of this Union as remarkable alike for its lack of pretension and for its preeminent purity, skill and success.
