Increased Wages At The Hemlock

Supt. Lawrence gave all of the men employed at the Hemlock mine a Christmas present last Saturday evening in the shape of an increase in pay amounting to ten cents per day per man. The increase is highly appreciated by the men, coming as it does in the middle of winter when the necessary expenses of living are increased. The Hemlock River Mining company is one of the most progressive on the range and always meets its obligations with a promptness that ought to put to shame some concerns in this locality. The people of Amasa may congratulate themselves that they have such a corporation in their midst.
