GALVESTON, Texas, May 15. (P)—A contest was promised today by G. L. Tyler, president of the Independent Voters' League against yesterday's city election which all candidates but one the faction in power were elected.
Adrian F. Levy, lawyer, candidate of the incumbents, was elected mayor-president of the commission to succeed J. E. Pearce who has been too ill for more than a year to serve.
George Rivaux candidate for commissioner of fire and police was the only successful opposition aspirant. He defeated R. P. Williamson, commissioner for several terms.
The margins of victory in cases were scant.
