DWYER HEARING
AT BURLINGTON

Burlington, March 12.-J. M. Dwyer
a young man who has been acting as
local agent for the L. C. Smith type-
writer concern, is at present in the
Des Moines county jail under 500
bond charged with larceny by em-
bezzlement. His case will be heard
next Tuesday.

E. J. Stevenson of Syracuse, N. Y.,
special agent of the company, came to
Burlington to look up Dwyer's record,
and finding things were not as they
should be caused the young man's ar-
rest. Mr. Stevenson says that the
amount of the shortage is $496.60.

Dwyer came here from Creston some
months ago. He has a wife and
baby.
