American Who Fled From Mormon Colony in Chihuahua.
El Paso, Tex., March 20.—E. L. Taylor, an American, arrived today with a story of mistreatment at the hands of the bandits operating in Colonia Juarez, the Mormon colony in Chihuahua.
Taylor said he fled to save his life, leaving behind his family and property.
Wounded One Mexican.
Taylor said the bandits under Manuel Gutierrez had raided the American colony a week ago. They entered his home and he fought desperately, wounding one Mexican. He was captured and sentenced to death. Later Gutierrez decided that he must pay $500, and confiscating $1,500 worth of grain and stock, told Taylor to leave the country.
