LOUISIANA.--In this State, the newspapers announce Henry Johnson as a candidate for the office of Governor, to succeed Governor Robertson, whose term of service expires.

His office will soon expire, being limited by the State Constitution. Mr. Johnson is at present a Senator from the State, and highly appreciating his estimable qualities, public and private, we shall part from him with great regret, though we are confident the selection of him for Governor will be of importance to the interests of the People and State over which he will, in all probability, be elected to preside.
