TIME TO GIVE
By B. ELIZABETH ELLINGTON
At this season of the year with so many disasters bringing all manner of human suffering, and the time when the Torch Drive has just opened, there is a need for deep right thinking, and giving. The storms rising in the south and winding their way all across the country, and landing in Canada, or anywhere else, should make the people at large begin to think, and say the right prayers. The hurricanes even (if they have been given female names) they cannot think.
Therefore, this is a good time for the women to put forth their best effort to help the men with their right thinking. The women have the feeling that in times when others are in so much trouble, is no time for getting rumpled over hurricanes being given female names, because that does not make them female by any means. In the first place women who think rightly, use their precious time to vigorously and diligently build up and not tear down, like a hurricane. And it is through their steadily applying definite right thinking to help all, that human suffering will be stopped. The women are laughing about the name being female and the reason which has been given for the name. And they are going ahead exercising goodwill, and many are willing to help carry on to the end of human strife.
"God is not in the storm nor in the wind, but in the 'still voice of Truth." Let us go forward and try to help others put into practice more right thinking, and soon there will be lesser hurricanes, and raving storms. By reflecting more of the idea that every woman, man, and child that God made is of spiritual being, and origin, the air will be purified, and storms will be allayed before they do so much damage.
