Woman Prisoner Bruises Matron In Brush Attack

Mrs. Lirnie Frye, matron for colored women prisoners at the city jail, was nursing two badly bruised spots on her head Sunday after a prisoner but Miss Anne Dorsey attacked her with a brush.

According to Mrs. Frye, she was talking through the cell to several other prisoners when Miss Dorsey reached through the bars and struck her twice before she could get out of the prisoner's reach.

Following the attack, Mrs. Frye was treated at Grady clinic for a lacerated scalp, and an additional charge of disorderly conduct was placed against her assailant.
