WASHINGTON, Feb. 27.—The Senate Judiciary Committee did not meet to-day, but it has been agreed among the members that Mr. Conkling's nomination as an Associate Justice of the Supreme Court shall be reported back to the Senate at the next executive session with a recommendation for confirmation. One or two of the committee are understood to regard it with disfavor, but there will be no formal minority report, and there appears to be no probability of any formidable opposition to its confirmation in the Senate.
