Socially Prominent Golfer Charged With Attempted Burglary.
BROOKLINE, Mass., Aug. 13.—In the arrest of Frank M. Gould, a young man prominent socially, member of several golf clubs and a golfer of no mean ability, the police believe they have a Raffles under arrest.
The first charge is that on last Monday night he was seen by Carl M. Goodspeed, one of the town's wealthiest business men, attempting to force open a dining room window with a jimmy. The next charge is that on which he was arrested by an officer, who found him in the rear of a residence acting suspiciously. When searched he had a bunch of keys on which were two skeletons.
Gould has been arrested before. In April, 1907, he was charged with breaking and entering a house in Newton. He was released under $1,000 bail for the Superior Court and that was the last heard of the case. His father is a physician connected with a sanitarium in Rochester, N. Y.
Gould recently won the first cup in a big open golf tourney at the Woodland Golf Club in Auburndale.
