Boston, June 17.—Bunker Hill day was observed here to-day as a close holiday. The most interesting feature of the day was the carnival and trades' procession, which started at 8:30 o'clock, and paraded the principal streets in four grand divisions. There was also a parade, beginning at 1:30 o'clock p. m., of military and civic organizations. The celebrations will end with fireworks and open air concerts in the two principal squares this evening.
The annual meeting of the Bunker Hill Monument Association was held to-day. Gen. Chas. Devens delivered the annual address. Hon. Robert C. Winthrop presented the association with his crayon portrait of Webster, taken in 1846. The following honorary members were elected: Hon. Grover Cleveland, Maj. Gens. John W. Schofield, Alfred H. Terry, and Oliver O. Howard.
