In THE LEGISLATURE

Of this Commonwealth, the subject of a tax on dogs has arrested much attention. The destructive increase of the canine species of late years, has called for remedy. A bill on the subject, from the Senate, has been considered in the House, and was last evening committed for the introduction of amendment. The leading points of the bill are concurred in. The tax on those who keep a single dog, is one dollar; to rise in increased progression on those who keep more than one. A great variety of general, private, local business, daily occupies attention.
