POSTMASTER APPLICANTS
SEND PAPERS TO CAPITOL.
Two Known to Want Appointment, and Report Is That There are Three
Just how many applicants there are for the postmastership at Dawson is not known, as the applications were forwarded by the applicants direct to Washington. It is known that there are two, Mr. George A. Gibson and Miss Sarah English, and it is reported that there is a third aspirant, though the rumor cannot be confirmed. Miss English secured a number of local endorsements, which she forwarded with her application.
Test papers were filled out and forwarded under seal to Washington by the applicants, where they will be graded by the Civil Service Commission.
The term of office of the incumbent, Dr. Cheatham, will expire in February.
