ENERGY is at all times, a beautiful as well as salutary trait in governments, A well-nerved administration by crushing opposition in its infancy, diminishes its future labor, and even, perhaps obviates its own destruction : for who when he beholds his house on fire would stand an idle spectator till the raging element had gained an ascendency, to subdue which his greatest efforts would be unavailing ? It is not less impolitic. to suffer a daring and outrageous faction to breed in the bosom of a country.
