PHOENIX, Sept. 27. (UP)—Sen. Carl Hayden, D., said today that Democratic preparedness protects the United States from any successful invasion by a foreign power.
Hayden said that only within the past five years has there been a serious effort made to build American military and naval forces capable of adequately supporting the nation,
"Maintaining our government," he said, "costs a billion dollars yearly but it is the best billion dollars we can spend under present world conditions."
