WASHINGTON.--The Administration's inflation bill was placed before the Senate today in the midst of bitter party dispute, which brought admission of defeat from the Republican anti-inflation bloc.
The Senate recessed until Monday after Senator Thomas, Democrat, Oklahoma, offered the inflation measure as a rider to the pending farm relief bill. Debate will begin after the week-end recess. Attacks and counter assaults preceded formal presentation of the amendment. The Mellon-Mills-Reed bloc was defeated on every front. A poll indicated the measure will be adopted by about a 2 to 1 majority in the Senate.
