FILLING STATIONS MUST
PAY FOR SIDEWALK USE

Under the terms of an ordinance passed by the city council last night all filling stations in Casper, which occupy any part of the sidewalk or of the streets will be compelled to pay a license fee of $30 a quarter for the privilege. It is not the intent of the law to compel the payment of the tax from filling stations which are erected on private property and which do not project into the street, even though they have avenues or entrance and exits to the streets from their property.

The new law, which is already partly in operation as the result of a resolution passed under former administrations will become effective immediately. A penalty of $100 fine is prescribed for violating the terms of the law.
