HORRIBLE DEATH
Early Morning Fire at Franklin Results in Fatality
Fire of an unknown origin in a boarding house at Franklin, at an early hour yesterday morning, resulted in the death of Propoa Dudka, the owner of the building.
Dudka, who had been in this country but a few months, was keeping boarders in a little house just north of the Franklin street car station. The inmates were awakened by smoke and they arose to investigate. The lower story of the house was in flames and an alarm was sounded. Every man escaped but Dudka. He re-entered the house to secure a sum of money. When he did not return, the boarders became worried and when the fire was under control they rushed into the building.
Dudka was found near his bed on the first floor, his body burned to a crisp.
Coroner Eichkern impanelled a jury and an inquest will be held tomorrow evening.
