Sweetwater Mines.—We have seen a letter from L. G. Barton, formerly of this Territory, to W. G. Poindexter, of La Paz, Yuma county, dated South Pass City, Sweetwater Mines, March 2d, 1868, in which the writer states that since his arrival in that region, he has visited five mining districts, and thinks it the richest quartz mining country in the world. The placer diggings, he thinks, are not extensive, and will never amount to much. Jeff. Stanford was in South Pass City at the date of the letter.
