Full Text

All Records Were Broken Saturday.
Eleven hundred and twenty-five bales cotton made up the receipts at Americus warehouses yesterday, smashing all records of a day in wagon receipts. Oftimes in years past the thousand bale mark has been reached and exceeded-thrice this season already-but never before in the history of the cotton trade here have wagon receipts touched yesterday's figures--1125 bales. It was the banner day of the season-of many seasons-and brought prosperity and business to Americus merchants. Already nearly 18,000 wagon bales have been received at Americus warehouses, a fair crop in itself, and other thousands are yet to come. Yesterday was a banner day in business circles and merchants reaped a golden harvest with hundreds of cotton bales selling at 11 1-4 cents and the money spent here by thousands of busy buyers.
