Souris, N.D. Dec. 1 to The Forum: Mrs. Floyd Nelson is very sick. The scarcity of cars still keeps the elevators full most of the time. It is very inconvenient to the farmers as they cannot tell whether they can unload their grain or not when they get to town.
Not enough snow for sleighing yet. Sleighs are very scarce in most towns as there is so much grain to haul yet. A great many of the citizens are going with long beards owing to the sickness of both the barbers. Mr. Yost has the tonsilitis and Dan Bruce is suffering from a severe cold. There is a scarcity of coal in town and it is liable to be worse as the winter advances.
Rev. Wooley of the M. E. church has gone to Washington for the benefit of his health. Mrs. Wooley has very weak lungs and her doctor has advised a change of climate for a short time.
Fred Keyes and Jas Thorburn have formed a partnership and will build boats the coming winter. They have several orders already and will undoubtedly be busy until summer comes again. Mr. Thorburn built the 'Met. Igoshe' which gained fame as a sail boat on Fish lake last summer.
T.B. Nichol is confined to his home with tonsilitis and Mr. Hall, who works in Doman's blacksmith shop, has been sick the last week but is improving.
