Virginia Military Institute.

The new building for this flourishing school
is being rapidly constructed. The brick work
of the main building is nearly finished. It is
four stories high, will be a magnificent building,
and will adorn the appearance of our town.
It is contemplated to have the main building
finished by the first of September. Several new
Professor's houses are also under construction.
The parade ground is considerably extended by
leveling the top of the hill, the work for some
time past has been through solid rock, and con-
sequently progressed slowly, but will be com-
pleted in a few months more. Lex. Gazette.
