HERMITAGE.

We have nothing yet from the Hermitage, in respect to Mr. Buchanan's statement. The Nashville Gazette of the 7th, contents itself with making extracts concerning it from the Evening Post, the two Enquirers, the New York Courier, and the American Sentinel. The opinions of our Dawsons, Sackett's, Kendalls and Penns, do not seem to be considered worth re-publishing. The hope that Major Eaton would enter the lists, to sustain the General, appears to have been illusory. I have little doubt but that the General and the Major, and the Major's clique, also, feel that it is a bad business, and have concluded that the least said, is soonest mended.
