USDA Sees Gains in Farm Family Living Since 1950
WASHINGTON, D. C. - Farm families have maintained their levels of living at least through 1954, in spite of the drop in total farm income, the U. S. Department of Agriculture said today. Since 1950, the Department reports, families on farms have made important additions to their reserves of household goods and conveniences.
A summary report of the farm family living situation was given by Dr. Margaret L. Brew of USDA's Agricultural Research Service at the opening-day session of the 33rd Annual Agricultural Outlook Conference being held here in Washington November 28 through December 1.
