NEW YORK-(NC)—"Every report of racial discrimination here
echoes all over the vast continent
of Africa," the Rev. Richard C.
Lawlor, S.J., told members of the
Catholic Interracial Council and
the Catholic Laymen's Union at
their Communion breakfast here.
"Not only your prayers and con-
tributions but also what you do
about race prejudice are most im-
portant for the future of the
Church in Africa," Father Lawlor
declared.
An associate editor of America,
the Jesuit is also an authority on
mission work in Africa. There, he
declared, communists are making
effective use of news of race prej-
udice in the United States.
