Full Text

The Atlanta street car people feel aggrieved that anybody should suspect them of an attempt to gouge the visitors to the exposition, and explain how it happens that the fare will be 10 cents to the grounds, two miles out. They will operate their cars so that there will be two rides from city points to the grounds, and as the usual charge is 5 cents per ride, everybody can see that the poor, but public spirited, company is merely trying to do justice to itself. It may be that the reason the fare to the grounds has been but 5 cents heretofore is that the cars have been run so that there was but one ride in the trip to the grounds. The public will see the distinction, and readily absolve the company from the unjust suspicion that it purposes grab game.
