OLIVER WOLCOTT, Esq.

Yesterday a sumptuous entertainment was given by several of the principal merchants and other gentlemen of our city, to Oliver Wolcott, Esq. late Secretary of the Treasury, expressive of esteem for his character, and the high sense they entertain of his public services. By permission of the Directors of the Bank of Pennsylvania, Mr. Kitchen had a circular table laid in the Great Hall of the New Building, where a dinner under his direction, was served up, to more than 100 persons, in a style of superior elegance and profusion. The Hall, which, until yesterday, has been in an unfinished state, is more magnificent than can be well described, and reflects great honor on the architect, Mr. Latrobe.
