Brass Band Wants Money for Rehearsal Services.
Pittsburg, Pa., March 30.-Today a local band sued the De Wolf Hopper opera company to recover $46 alleged to be due for services. The band had been engaged to play in some of the scenes of "El Capitan" at the Alvin theater. The members were ordered to report for rehearsal Monday. They did so and the rehearsal started. The musical director of the Hopper company almost had nervous prostration and refused to accept the services of the band. The leader of the band rendered a bill of $46 for the rehearsal, but payment was refused. Alderman John Groetzinger will hear the case. Mr. Hopper confirms the report that Alice Judson of Washington will take Mrs. Hopper's place April 2. Miss Judson has been on the stage one year.
