BOY SCOUTS TO COMPETE FOR DISTRICT HONORS AT KAMPINGO

Wolf Creek, about two miles west of Wolf Point will be the scene of pitched tents, camp fires, and an expected 100 Boy Scouts of America Saturday, May 29, when the annual Boy Scout Kampingo is staged about 3 miles up the creek.

Scout troops to be represented at the day of sports, scoutcraft and training will come from Poplar, Glasgow, Nashua, Fort Peck and Wolf Point. Some troops are expected to arrive and make camp at the site on Friday evening to spend the night there.

Kampingo events will envelope campsite procedure and excellence: signalling with flags, knot tying, first aid, fire building, blindfolded compass course and a fun event.

Highest possible score for any one patrol to make is 120 points.

All awards for events will be made at the Court of Honor to be held in the evening at 7:30. Weather permitting, an outdoor court will be held around a large council fire. In case of inclement weather, this portion of the program will be held in the high school gymnasium.

O. L. Fjerstad is the Kampingo committee chairman, and also head field judge, assisted by A. S. Becker. Honorary Kampingo Chief for the day will be Buffalo Plains scout executive Carl Kaeppel.
