The Huronite urges, in a recent number, that provision be made in some way for the systematic publication and distribution of the regular weather bulletins of Director Glenn of Huron, who is working under the national department of agriculture. The proposition is one which ought to meet with general favor. The voluntary force of observers is now well organized, and the data secured is absolutely reliable and trustworthy. Our rainfall and snowfall present average conditions far more favorable to agriculture, in all its departments, than is generally supposed, while healthful and personal comfort conditions of atmosphere in South Dakota are unsurpassed anywhere. Why, then, cannot these facts be disseminated with profit and advantage? The Huronite closes its article in the following words which the state press can heartily endorse:

In various states, seeking development, board of trade, city organizations, county and state boards of agriculture, are co-operating with these branches of the national weather and crop bureau, to the very great advantage of their localities. Is there not a pointer in this for South Dakota people in this advertising year?

We understand that the new state board of agriculture has been conferring with Director Glenn about this very matter, and that Mr. Glenn has expressed the heartiest willingness to aid them in every possible way. In the work of inviting good immigration there is probably no one thing that can serve the purpose more than a thorough dissemination of South Dakota's real climatic and crop growing conditions. With Director Glenn's co-operation this thing can be done at an expense scarcely worth minding, if fairly distributed. It is to be hoped that the board of agriculture will follow the trail it has struck in this line, and be thoroughly backed by any needed help on the part of the state or citizens.

While eastern people are holding "good roads conventions," we in South Dakota who have occasion are bowling along over the best roads in the world, builded by Dame Nature herself.
