On the same Day came on the Election at Jamaica, in Queen's County. The Candidates and Number of Votes are as follows, viz.

Col. Isaac Hicks, 432
David Jones, Esq; 390
Capt. Benjamin Hicks. 342
Thomas Alsop, Esq; 287

The Two first named were chosen, and they treated the Electors very handsomely.

Two Things were very remarkable at this Election: One was, That the Quakers (who always formerly us'd to stick together as one Man) were divided. The other, That Two old Widows tender'd, and were admitted to vote; and it is said, these Two old Ladies will be chosen Constables for the next Year.
