Dublin, August 20. Of the eight Men that were in the Copper Mine when the Earth fell in upon them, Four were taken up alive, after having remained four Days in the Earth without having any thing to live on but a Pound of Candles: and two Days after two more were found, but so weak, that it was not thought safe to bring them into the Air: They were preserved by getting into the Clift of a Rock, on the Top of which another falling hindered the Earth from closing in upon them, and formed a kind of a Cave. They were at first Six together, but the Earth giving Way a second Time, Separated the two latter from the rest. There are an Hundred Men at Work, endeavouring to relieve the other Two, who are thought to be still alive, their Voice having been sometimes heard.
