Additional Equipment Nearing Completion at Telephone Office

Work is almost completed on additional central office equipment being added at the Sidney Telephone Office.

Equipment to provide 200 additional numbers has been added to the existing switchboard which will provide the necessary facilities for better grades of service.

Changes have also been made to toll equipment at the local switchboard to provide the latest type of terminating equipment on long distance circuits into Sidney.

Later this year one additional switchboard position will be installed. This should be completed sometime in July.

Also programmed for completion this year is additional cable facilities for urban Sidney. At the present time outside cable facilities are becoming used up and the additional cable will bring much needed relief in most areas.
